The REACH² (Research in East Asian Cultural Heritage / Computational Humanities) lab is centered on digital analysis of the literature, culture, and history of East Asia. In the lab, Paul Vierthaler (Assistant Professor, East Asian Studies) and his collaborators work on projects ranging from quantitative analyses of large-scale text and image corpora to the creation of digital reconstructions of historical places. Students, faculty, librarians, and other scholars interested in any aspect of how computers can be fruitfully leveraged to research, represent, or explore East Asian culture in any capacity are welcome to reach out.
