JCA Editorial Assistant

Open to grads, the Editorial Assistant will support the day-to-day operations of the Journal of Cultural Analytics at Princeton University's Center for Digital Humanities.

The Center for Digital Humanities seeks a graduate student Editorial Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of the Journal of Cultural Analytics. This role offers excellent exposure to academic publishing and digital scholarship.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage submission intake and reviewer database
  • Prepare manuscripts and supporting materials for editors and peer reviewers
  • Coordinate correspondence with authors and reviewers
  • Maintain publication timeline and track manuscript workflows
  • Assist with editorial review database expansion
  • Support the journal website and online platform
  • Attend editorial meetings and contribute to planning discussions

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (in progress or completed)
  • Excellent organizational and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with academic publishing workflows
  • Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and content management systems
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with humanities scholarship, familiarity with digital publishing platforms, basic copyediting knowledge.

Hours and Compensation: 3-5 hrs/week; $25/hr
