The CDH is thrilled to welcome our first visiting speaker for the Fall 2017 semester, Deb Verhoeven!

Deb Verhoeven is the Associate Dean of Engagement and Innovation at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), and Director of the Humanities Networked Infrastructure (HuNI) Project. Her research focuses on pushing the conventional boundaries of film studies as well as database development and infrastructure.

In addition to receiving numerous grants and awards, including three Australian Research Council Discovery Grants and two ARC LIEF grants, Deb has served as the CEO of the Australian Film Institute and Deputy Chair of the National Film and Sound Archive. While at Princeton Deb will host a public workshop on Tuesday, September 19th, at 12 PM about serendipitous discovery and making connections in the humanities through computational platforms. She will also give a public lecture on Wednesday, September 20th, at 4:30 PM about seeing and identifying relationships through the shape of data.
