Hannah studies the influence of a performance space on the music performed there, as well as listeners’ “musical daydreams in live concert settings.” She is using survey data she gathered from audience members at a performance in the Princeton University Concerts series, and plans to analyze the 200 responses using R.

Hannah is interested in “the content of different musical imaginings relative to particular pieces, the extent to which these are shared between audience members, and the influence of demographic variables.” In order to do so, she will analyze “semantic similarity for descriptions of narrative imaginings using a semantic embedding space model.” Her goal by the end of the semester is to produce a publishable paper.
