Indigenous Studies DH Working Group

The Indigenous Studies DH Working Group fosters discussions, training, and innovative research at the intersections of Indigenous Studies, advocacy, and the digital humanities.

Since its launch in spring 2021, the group has organized guest lectures and hands-on tool training workshops to explore topics such as GIS mapping and animation. Student researchers are applying these skills to the Nuclear Princeton Project, which is an undergraduate-directed project that highlights the under-acknowledged impacts of nuclear science, technology, and engineering on Native lands, communities, and beyond. Goals for the working group include allowing students to 1) familiarize themselves with the state-of-art use cases in DH + Indigenous Studies; 2) produce original digital research by using the data from the Nuclear Princeton website; and 3) showcase their research to the Princeton and wider communities.
