Julian Chehirian

Julian Chehirian is a PhD student in the History of Science. He works on the history of the psychological sciences in the 20th century, examining the intersection of memory, attention, trauma and psychiatry in transnational social and political contexts. As a Spring 2021 Graduate Fellow he is collaborating with Dr. Lilia Topouzova (Professor, University of Toronto), Krasimira Butseva (Lecturer, University of the Arts London) and Sara Mahan (Digital Archivist) on “Table Archive”—a digital platform representing the material and memory worlds of ethnographic interviews with survivors of the Soviet-era Bulgarian forced labor camp system. Julian's work has taken the form of scholarly publications, digital humanities projects, art installations and public history exhibitions.
