Hien Pham

Hien Pham (she/her/hers) is a member of the class of 2023, from Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. Hien is concentrating in computer science (A.B), with certificates in Statistics & Machine Learning, and Technology & Society - IT track. Hien is deeply interested in data science and issues at the intersection of computing technology and society, particularly digital privacy, fairness, and accessibility; social behaviours in online communities; and psychological impacts of social media and targeted advertising.

At Princeton, Hien is the co-organizer of INTERFACE, a discussion group on the impacts and ethics of computing. Hien works as a Tech Community Ambassador with the Scholars Institute Fellows Program (SIFP) and Freshman Scholars Institute (FSI), providing technical support to maintain community and access for low-income, first-generation students through the COVID-19 pandemic. In Summer 2021, Hien is also a Course Fellow for HUM 295: Humanistic Approaches to Media and Data in the FSI program.
