Summer DH Opportunities

The summer is often the best time to learn new skills or focus on a research project. We’ve put together a guide of summer DH activities to help you figure out what your options are. Still have questions? You can always schedule a consultation and talk it through with us!

Want an introduction to the DH community?

Attend a conference! This year, Johns Hopkins will host Keystone DH in Baltimore from June 16–17. The schedule isn’t available just yet, but you can follow them on Twitter for more.

Want to learn DH skills?

Try a DH workshop! The UPenn Dream Lab, which runs from June 5–8, is a great option for Princeton-area people. This year’s courses include Advocating for Community: Data Collection and Visualization, Humanities Mapping, and more. On-campus housing is available.

That same week, the University of Victoria will host the Digital Humanities Summer Institute (DHSI) in British Columbia. Can’t make it in person? Online DHSI happens the following week. The priority registration deadline is May 1.

Looking for opportunities in Europe? Registration is still open for the Digital Humanities at Oxford Summer School, which runs from July 3­–7.

And, finally, if you're free a little later in the summer, the University of Virginia’s Rare Book School is offering a virtual workshop on Using Digitized Manuscripts from July 24–28.

Want to learn DH skills and work in Hellenic Studies?

We have an opportunity for you! The CDH is co-organizing a Summer Institute in DH for Hellenic Studies at the Princeton Athens Center from July 3–7 (yes, really!). Tuition is free, and funding may be available. The deadline is April 5, so don’t miss it!

Need funding?

If you're a Princeton graduate student, we might be able to help! CDH Graduate Training Grants may be used to cover the costs of tuition, registration, travel, or lodging, up to $1,000. The deadline is rolling.
