Ines Montani, co-founder and CEO of Explosion AI, spoke to audience members on campus and on Zoom.

Scholars from around the world gathered at Princeton University in May for the final event in the New Languages for NLP: Building Linguistic Diversity in the Digital Humanities Institute, generously supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The conference was the culmination of a series of three Institute workshops hosted by the Center for Digital Humanities in partnership with DARIAH-EU, with the goal of enabling teams of researchers working in diverse languages to create linguistic data and train NLP models for under-resourced languages.

The conference featured a public keynote by Ines Montani entitled “Solutions for Advanced NLP for Diverse Languages.” Montani is the co-founder and CEO of Explosion AI, which makes spaCy, an open-source library for applied NLP in Python used by Institute participants.
