CDH is hiring a Graphic Designer!

The Center for Digital Humanities (CDH) at Princeton University seeks a Graphic Designer for a short-term project. The scope of this project is to create compelling publicity and promotional material for the Center’s  “Year of Data,” a campus-wide initiative that will take place during the 2018-2019 academic year. During Year of Data, the CDH will host approximately 20 events, speakers, workshops, and discussions to encourage critical and immersive thinking about how data shapes our research, teaching, and daily lives.

During Year of Data, the CDH will host approximately 20 events, speakers, workshops, and discussions to encourage critical and immersive thinking about how data shapes our research, teaching, and daily lives.

In consultation with the CDH staff, the Graphic Designer will conceptualize and produce creative publicity materials across multiple media platforms, including but not limited to

  • print -- posters, flyers, event cards
  • digital -- web design for dedicated page on http://cdh.princeton.edu, social media
  • giveaways -- tote bags, stickers, etc.

This job should begin immediately and can be completed remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Work with CDH staff to conceptualize and design visual brand identity that speaks to the mission and vision of “Year of Data”
  • Adapt and implement the visual identity across all media outlets
  • Design publicity materials for a series of events
  • Prepare production files for online platforms (newsletters and social media outlets)
  • Produce print files and prep for final production
  • Prioritize tasks, turnaround times, revisions, and technical challenges

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in graphic design and branding design for print and digital media
  • Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite design programs: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign

  • Demonstrated experience in conceptual design

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with cultural heritage or higher education clients
  • Experience with data visualization and information design
