Blue Mountain Springs

APIs to the Resources of the Blue Mountain Project

Blue Mountain Springs is part of the Blue Mountain Project, the collective endeavor of scholars, librarians, curators, and digital-humanities researchers to create a freely available digital repository of periodicals that chronicle and embody the avant garde in literature, music, architecture, and the visual arts from the late nineteenth century through the middle of the twentieth.

Blue Mountain Springs is a suite of Application Program Interfaces (APIs) to Blue Mountain's database of periodicals. With Blue Mountain Springs, users can write programs to extract fielded data about magazines, individual magazine issues, specific contributors, and specific contributions; to retrieve plain-text and TEI-encoded transcriptions of textual content; and to use the IIIF Presentation API to display Blue Mountain's content in IIIF-compliant image viewers.
